Indexing Slack Canvas as Knowledge Source

To use Canvases from Private Slack channels as knowledge sources:

  1. Add ClearFeed to your private channel by typing /invite @Clearfeed in the channel.

  2. No need to configure these channels as request or triage channels if they're only being used for Canvas knowledge sources.

  3. Once ClearFeed has access to your private channels, follow the standard process below to set their Canvases as knowledge sources.

  • From the left navigation bar on the ClearFeed WebApp, go to AI > Knowledge Sources.

  • Hover over the "Add Knowledge Source" dropdown at the top right corner to select Slack Canvas.

  • A side drawer will appear requesting the following information:

    • Name: Enter a title for this Knowledge Source that will be displayed in ClearFeed

    • Tags: Add identifiers to categorize and organize your Knowledge Source. Customize these based on your requirements. (Note: "Slack" will be added as a default tag)

    • Channels: Choose which Slack channels should have their canvases indexed. Multiple channels can be selected.

    • Auto Reindex Regularly: When enabled, the particular knowledge source will reindex once every 24 hours.

  • After saving your addition, the Knowledge Source will either start indexing immediately (reflected by an Indexing status) or will be picked soon (reflected with an Initiated status). Get more details on Managing Knowledge Sources here.
