Guidelines to add and index your private Confluence Knowledge Source

Integrating with Confluence

To index your Knowledge Source, you must integrate your Confluence account with ClearFeed. Begin this on the ClearFeed web app:

1. Navigate to Settings from the nav-bar, and proceed to the Integrations tab.

2. Within the list of available integrations, locate and select Confluence.

3. Press the Connect button which brings up an input modal.

4. Enter you Confluence subdomain in the first input field.

5. Next, enter your Confluence email and API Key (use your PAT - personal access token).

6. Upon entering these details, click the Connect button within the modal.

7. Successful integration redirects you back to ClearFeed's web app, where a confirmation message is displayed.

Indexing a Confluence Knowledge Source

With the integration complete, you can now index your Knowledge Source:

Indexing a Confluence Knowledge Source

1. Initiating the Process:

   • Launch the ClearFeed web app and head to Knowledge Sources from the nav-bar.

   • Hover on Add Knowledge Source dropdown at the top right corner and choose Confluence.

2. Input Drawer Configuration: A side drawer will appear, prompting you to provide specific details:

   • Name: Designate a title for this Knowledge Source, which will be displayed on ClearFeed.

   • Tags: These are identifiers linked with every Knowledge Source, aiding in categorization and structuring. Customize tags based on your needs. Note: confluence will be a default tag.

   • Spaces: Choose the Confluence spaces you'd like to index. The options include:

     1. Indexing all spaces.

     2. Indexing specific spaces.

   • Excluded URL: Specify URLs branching out from the Root URL that should be omitted during indexing. Remember, all subsidiary URLs will also be ignored.

     • For example, by excluding https://docs.clearfeed.ai/clearfeed-help-center/product-features/ticketing, its sub-URLs, such as https://docs.clearfeed.ai/clearfeed-help-center/product-features/ticketing/external-ticketing, will be left out.

3. Finalizing and Indexing:

   • After entering the above details, click on the Add button to save your addition.

   • The Knowledge Source will either start indexing immediately (reflected by an Indexing status) or will in queue to be picked soon (reflected with an Initiated status).

   • Once successfully indexed, the Knowledge Source will be visibly marked with an Indexed status.
